A native of County Sligo, Ireland, Amanda Armstrong has distinguished herself in the Cape Ann and North Shore real estate market for her ability to consistently produce sales regardless of market conditions. Amanda is valued by her clients as much for her good cheer, unfailing honesty and 'can-do' spirit as for her more practical attributes of persistence, preparation and attention to detail. Her real estate skills have also been enhanced by her background in the financial services industry, working for the equity research office of Morgan Stanley in Boston, and in elder care, where as program manager for West Suburban Elder Services in Newton Amanda worked to enable her clients to age in place and with dignity in their own homes. Both careers provided an excellent foundation for the business of buying and selling a home, which is equal parts dispassionate analysis of financial data and delicate navigation of human sentiments that are hard to quantify. From the financial world, Amanda developed an understanding of how important it is to ground a purchase or sale in a careful reading of the market and how critical due diligence and follow-through are to closing a deal successfully. Her work with elders strengthened her innate understanding of the power of home as an idea and the role human feelings play in a real estate transaction. Amanda lives in Rockport with her husband, Carson Berglund, and their four children. She is very committed to the Rockport community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Rockport Chamber of Commerce and on the Easter Egg Hunt Committee that is now a much anticipated Rockport tradition sponsored by local businesses and friends of Millbrook Meadow.
